hey hope everyone is doing well.  I jus finshedchecking out some of DDS new stuff on their website it looks super fun!  i don’t know if im supposed to write that i did the last photoshoot with them but i think its ok? ha anyway it was amazing i had a blast and the staff there is amazing they really work hard to being you guys the best stuff and quick!  But other than that i’ve just been keeping as busy as i can.  Sonya Tayeh’s Endurance to Move show was absolutely amazing and a wonderful thing to be apart of.   i recently performed at the DizzyFeet foundation charity at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles which was absolutely amazing. It felt great to do charity event especially at this time of year also i did the power of youth charity event at Paramount Studios which was amazing as well.  It always feel amazing to give back especially to a community that has been soo amazing to all of us.

other than that i am also thankful to be apart of a new nickelodeon tv show coming out in february titled victorious its about a performing arts school and it was soo fun to shoot the intro sequence especially to see so many familiar faces. That was also one of a few direct booking which was absolutely amazing to hear from my agent. DDO.  They are really doing awesome right now.

so just wanted to share some of my updates with you.  but this is my favorite time of year so lets all be thankful for all our wonderful blessing we have! happy holidays to you all!

hey guys so thanks 4 the support and to those of you for supporting the movie i hope that you have all enjoyed it. I know shelli was saying you know to talk about how to get a dance job something like that and what not. well i just think that the biggest thing is growing up make sure and be in all ur classes and what not so you can be confindent and always have the technique backbone. because a lot of audition i have been too especially lately the first thing thyey do is type cast you. which is basically where they see if you fir the roll and what not. and then it seems like alwyas by the time they get to the end they look at your technique.  it seems like that is what it comes down to a lot of times because they are many people that look like high schoolers for example that are cute and have sort of a look you know…but not many have all the training and technique to back that stuff up and with true technique the choreographer knows you know that you can ultimately pick up anything they have to throw at you so ya guys just growing up now is the time to focus on that kinda stuff! yay 4 technique class

Hey guys my name is Rey Barcena and i am going to be a blogger here on danceworld.  yay and can’t wait to share with you guys! so a little bit about myself im 19 years old and i am a professional dancer/convention owner/and editor.  Let’s see i grew up in the comp/convention scene as a kid. i trained under melody lacayanga nick lazzarini and leo morimune growing up.  i am now a professional dancer.  one of my most recent jobs i just finished up was the new Fame movie coming out in 3 days! i am a principal dancer in the film so you all gotta go check it out! i am also the owner of the iHollywood Dance convention it is a convention that takes place yearly in summer now and soon we will be branching off and coming to a city near all of you! we have an awesome faculty and i couldn’t be more greatful check out our website ihollywooddance.com iHD 2010 is August 4-8 in los angeles so mark your calendars and be there!  i am also a part of Sonya Tayeh’s company Tayeh Dance Co that i absolutely love and we are now sponsored by DDS yay!! thank you guys soo much you are awesome!  we have a show coming up in november on the 13 & 14 in north hollywood ca at the el portal theatre so i hope you can all come watch!  i am pretty busy but i am going to blog as much as possible and give me feedback so it inspires me more to write!! yay thank you all for supporting danceworld it is going to be great and thanks to danceworld for having me here!
